Would you like to be part of a bike ride from Darwin to Bairnsdale?
On 13th June 2004, two cyclist, John Nelson and Ted Lowe set off
from Darwin to ride home to Bairnsdale via Perth and Adelaide. On
Saturday 13th November they will arrive home and we are looking
for cyclists who would like to join them in the last leg from Sale
to Bairnsdale.
The ride
is raising money for the Bionic Ear Institute and the Meningitis
Foundation.
John Nelson
is member of Rotary and his home club is Bairnsdale, the Rotary
Club of Mitchell River is inviting you to join then last leg of
the ride.
Everyone who can find sponsorship
for or donate $100 will earn the right to ride home with John and
Ted. All donations can be tax deductible.
You can join the ride at
Sale or anywhere between Sale and Bairnsdale and ride behind the
marathon cyclists.
With Police and CFA support,
the roads crossing the highway into Bairnsdale will be blocked for
your safety. It is planned to finish in Bairnsdale on Saturday 13th
November, but it will be up to all riders to monitor the Bairnsdale
